BarroMetrics Views: A Great Event!
It’s been quite a hectic two weeks for me:
- Trading
- Setting up a prop house
- Preparing and giving the Habits of Success Seminar (HOS)
- Improving my marketing skills by studying Glenn Dietzal’s course
- Starting the chapter for Wiley’s forthcoming book: The Wiley Trading Guide II
- Most important of all spending time with Chrisy (my wife). With my business interests in Singapore and our residence in Hong Kong, time spent together becomes a real premium to be enjoyed.
So if you think I have been feeling more than a little pressured, you’d be 100% right!
But the HOS event made it all worthwhile. We had a full house (60 attendees) and it was a great crowd: you could feel the energy in the room shown by the willingness of the attendees to give 200% commitment and participation. Many of the attendees reported an improved bottom line - and we still have to come to the 8 sessions of live-trading where theory meets practice!
That’s not to say that I can’t improve….Some attendees were looking for their Power Point.
I don’t use Power Point Slides since I feel it looks me into an unchangeable direction. The problem with this lock-in is I am unable to change the presentation to suit current conditions. For example in this session, I had incorrectly pre-assessed the level of experience of the class as a whole. If I had used Power Point, changing the content to suit the audience would have been difficult, if not impossible.
That said, the attendees had some excellent suggestions to improve the presentation - suggestions I shall be implementing.
The HOS seminar is the reason why I love to share my knowledge - a high energy, high learning event that gives me such a buzz!
