Hi Folks

A post to warn you to be careful about Fulcrum Trader (http://www.fulcrumtrader.com/)

At one stage, he was advertising a 3-month personal coaching program, scheduled to meet twice a week. I took it up.

After about a month, Christopher Koozekanani (fulcrum trader) started to regularly miss the agreed Monday or Friday meetings. H explained that a family issue was disrupting his schedule and asked to change the meeting days. With great difficulty, I re-arranged the days to Tues and Thurs; but Chris continued to miss meetings. His last e-mail to me:

“Per this last email you had sent me, you had us set to meet next on August 22nd (next Tuesday at 07:00 am US central time is good). I have that week set for Tuesday and Thursday at 07:00 am US central time each day so that is already planned for. I will be ready to meet with you again for sessions that week when I am back in Austin.”

On Aug 22, Chris again failed to send me a meeting link, and to date I have not heard from him despite repeated e-mails.

Now I am prepared to accept, Chris has some family issues; but it seems to me that rather than disappearing into the woodwork, he could have done something to honour his contract e.g. offer a refund or reschedule.

At least his has withdrawn the personal coaching offer from his site,

I coincidentally noticed fulcrum trader last week while searching some info about http://www.orderflowanalytics.com/OFA_Home.aspx

Do you by any chance have some experience with OFA bootcamp? Do you find it useful? Thanks a lot for sharing your view always.

Too bad to hear about Chris not following through with his commitment.

I visited his teaching room for a month or two last summer, and although it was mostly his assistants doing the teaching, not him, I did get all my questions answered and I learned a lot & I feel Chris truly had unique and valuable information to offer. My perspective on the market evolved a lot due to what I learned from him and I’m very glad I had the chance to learn and ask questions.

Hopefully he’ll get his obligations with you sorted out. It would be a shame if he leaves matters in the state you describe.

I agree. I too believe Chris had something new to offer which is why I took up the personal coaching.

Pity things turned out the way they did. And yes hopefully, he’ll do something about completing his obligations.

I am probably one of the very few people who have seen Chris trade live. No, i dont mean in some virtual trade room where he might say “I went long here and now im just managing this winning trade BLA BLA BLA” but seeing a live account (of my small prop firm). Trust me when I say this, THIS GUY IS A TERRIBLE TRADER. Maybe you will find his education helpful, that might be, but i have seen how he traded like a maniac trading his “accordion”. he was never following his own plan and he really could not at all stick to his own set risk parameters. Things like “maximum contract size, maximum risk per trade, daily loss limits” are things that he just totally ignored and he lost more money faster than any other trader i have ever met and he would have blown out those accounts. Fortunately it was a very easy decision for us to get rid of this guy since he completely violated all risk parameters 3 times out of the first 4 live trading days. And not jsut slightly like f.e. a maximum trade size in the dax of 10 and he traded 12 or so, no if his max size allowed was 10 then you could easily find yourself trading 25-40 contracts…I also have a friend who had an account with him. He started the account with 30k and chris wiped it out in 1 day (no joke)…
I would stay FAR away from that guy.

Thanks for the post.

To be fair to Chris, while I do strongly object to his breach of integrity with me, I actually found some of his ideas useful.

That said, your comments show yet another example of the importance of risk management and discipline.

Chris may have known what to do but failed to do what he knew.

hi ray, it was not just the poor risk management but also that he didnt even trade his own setups! there was no CD divergence or inventory grab! he basically thought the market should go lower and just average down (up in this case) like crazy until i had to shut him off (3 days in a row which ended it)!
yes i agree, some of the things he teaches are worthwhile but there is far better orderflow coachings out there! even free webinars of multiple hours from l2st or discovery trading group are more valuable in my opinion!
